Even with the resignation of two New York prosecutors this week due to a lack of action from the DA's office, Donald Trump's legal problems aren't going away. He is facing serious lawsuits in Washington, D.C., and ongoing investigations in both Fulton County, Georgia and the state of New York (and many more in DC, as well.) Well, this past week has certainly been one for the record books, between Russia invading Ukraine and of course, Donald Trump's suffering four major legal setbacks, but one possible legal, I guess you would say, victory. But either way, joining me right now, one of our all time favorite folks, a good personal friend of mine, author, writer, podcaster, Cliff Schecter. Cliff, again, it's wonderful to have you back here on Ring of Fire. You know, you and I have known each other for many years. You've been coming on Ring of Fire I think since the inception of the show. So it, it's great to have you back and to finally get to talk to you, officially on the record, you and I actually talk all the time. But, you know.

Thank you. First of all, for having me back on. I should go through and watch all the old episodes to kind of see myself gradually age. Now, because I can trace my aging since I started coming on this show, God knows how many years ago, but always a pleasure with you. You're awesome, man. So thank you.

Well, and you know, I'm so sorry to bring you on on a week where, you know, there's just no news to talk about really.

What are we gonna talk? I know, we're gonna have to come up with something, you know.

In all seriousness, everything is terrible. Um, specifically what is happening right now. It is an invasion by Russia. I know you've got, there's plenty of folks on, on Twitter who don't wanna say it's an invasion and well, you just don't know the history or yeah, but the US is also bad. Cut the crap. This is Russia invading a sovereign country. Your thoughts on this, Cliff?

Yes. I'm just kidding. I mean, of course it is, right. I mean, it's utterly ludicrous, you know, well, there was a time when Ukraine was part of Russia as part of the Soviet empire and you just wanna be like, not voluntarily. Uh, do we go all the way back to the Czarist empire? Give him Finland too? Hey, maybe we give him Alaska back, right? We bought that from them. Seward's folly, that was once, I mean, no. You know, they did, if, if let's just put it this way, pick a random country, Denmark. If Denmark suddenly went into Rhode Island and took it over and said, we like this place, there's some Danish people who happen to live here and, and, and then said it was theirs. Would we at an invasion of our territory? Of course we would. I mean, Putin has no proof.

Even if he did have proof, he still would be breaking international law, but he has no proof that, that anybody there wants him there. There's no, no data on this or whatever. This is a sovereign nation that is next to him. This is a nation they gave security concerns to when the Soviet Union broke up so that Ukraine would give up its nuclear weapons, and that they weren't going to invade. And now once again, Vladimir Putin has proved himself to be as treacherous a dictator as any who has existed in the history of the world.

And, you know, I've, I've seen a lot of people talk about, well, you gotta understand the history of this conflict between Russia and Ukraine to really, you know, because then you understand a little better why what's happening. No, we don't. And then, then I've seen people and I'm not naming some of these people because they're little idiot twerps on Twitter that I don't want to give that name recognition to.
