Newly released emails from Trump attorney John Eastman reveal an even deeper plot than previously known to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Eastman wanted the state of Pennsylvania to throw out certain ballots, then send an alternate slate of Trump electors on January 6th to give the loser the state's votes. New emails had been released from John Eastman, who served as one of Donald Trump's lawyers, helping to at least attempt to overturn the 2020 election results. And these new emails show that Eastman was communicating with a Pennsylvania state representative Republican, obviously about how best to get votes in Pennsylvania thrown out so that Donald Trump would be the winner of the state. And then on how to decertify the electors that the governor of Pennsylvania had already selected so that they could then send the pro Trump electors to DC on January 6th. So here is one snippet of just one of these emails that kind of tells the story, the best having done that math you'd be left with a significant Trump lead that would bolster the argument for the legislature, adopting a slate of Trump electors perfectly within your authority to do anyway. But now bolstered by the untainted popular vote that would help provide some cover. Eastman says not by the way that is the legal and correct thing to do, but that it would provide some cover.

Now that phrase, right, there is one that is very likely, legally speaking to get Eastman in a lot of trouble, help provide some cover is not something you say when you know that you're doing something that is totally right and legal provide some cover implies that you were doing something sneaky, shady, possibly illegal behind the scenes. And you need a little bit of a distraction. That's what this email details. And honestly, given how close Eastman was to Donald Trump, it is unlikely in my opinion, that Donald Trump was not fully aware of what Eastman was attempting to do. Now that lawmaker that I mentioned, the Pennsylvania state lawmaker that, uh, Eastman was emailing with has said like, Hey, you know, these were just ideas that were being kicked around. Obviously we didn't do any of these things. We're just kind of brainstorming what we could possibly do.

Okay. Well, that doesn't matter because legally speaking, there are multiple different laws, both federal and state laws that these emails likely break. And we know that by the way, because that is what a judge ruled just a few months ago when he determined that these Eastman emails between him and Donald Trump, of course were no longer protected by attorney client privilege because they likely showed the two conspiring to commit a crime. The judge basically made the determination, although this was not, you know, what the court case was about. So there were no official charges, but the judge said, it's likely they committed a crime. And of course you have the electoral, you know, count

Act of whatever that is officially called. You have the state laws about circumventing elections, interfering in elections, just like Trump's being investigated for over in Georgia. So you have all of these different laws that these emails are now pretty much painting. A very clear picture that Eastman at least likely broke. You know, whether or not Donald Trump was involved. We do not have that evidence yet, which of course is why the January 6th select committee is still fighting in court to get more of these Eastman emails released to them that he is refusing to turn over. So that's where we stand right now.
