FBI Nabs Capitol Riot Duo After They Sent Photos Of Themselves Inside The Capitol

A pair of women have been arrested for partaking in the Capitol Riot after they shared an image of the two of them in the building via text messages. An anonymous individual saw the photo and reported it to the FBI, who were then able to match the two women to surveillance videos and photos, leading to their arrest. This isn't the smartest group of people, which is probably a good thing, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

A duo of women from Illinois have been busted as members of the January 6th Capitol riot after one of them texted a photo of the two of them in the Capitol to one of their friends husbands. The husband showed the text to other people, showed the picture and then an anonymous tipster who had seen the photo, alerted the FBI and said, hey, I've got some news for you. I've got these two ladies up here in Illinois who are sharing pictures of themselves at the Capitol riot. So the picture was given to the FBI. The FBI was able to take the picture, see what the women were wearing, match it up to surveillance videos and now they've both been busted. What I love about covering these Capitol riot stories about these people getting arrested or getting convicted is that these truly are some of the dumbest individuals I've ever seen in my life.

In all the years I have been doing this, in all the years I've been working at a law firm, I don't think I've ever seen defendants this stupid. Like not just these two women, by the way, I'm talking about all of these Capitol rioters, because the vast majority of these morons have been busted because they've been bragging about it. Listen, nobody should ever commit crimes. Okay. I always like to say, nobody should ever commit crimes. But if you do commit crimes, don't take pictures. And if you do take pictures, for the love of God, don't share them with people. You're going to get busted. If you take pictures at all, you're probably going to get busted. They're gonna be able to get their hands on your phone records. They're gonna get your hand, their hands on your phone themselves. They're gonna find the pictures folks. But we have seen these idiots texting pictures. We have seen them posting them on social media. We've seen them post videos of themselves inside the Capitol.

And then of course, they go to trial. They cry. They beg the judge, please, I was such an idiot. I didn't mean to do it. Yeah, you did. You're just sorry that you got caught. You weren't crying in the video. You weren't crying when you posted it on Facebook. You weren't crying, begging for forgiveness when you were sending it around to all of your friends. So these two women, what happened here, obviously they go, they participate. They're inside the Capitol. They got 'em on the surveillance video. They match their outfits based on the pictures. So they watch them on different videos. They see 'em from different angles, in different areas, going all about it. They then leave the Capitol. They go wait outside for one of their adult sons to come and join them. He shows up, they go right back in. So you actually had the opportunity to walk away at that point. You're already outside. You had done your thing. You're like, okay, okay, good. We're done. Let's just go. It's like, no, no, no.

We're gonna wait for my son and he's gonna show up and we're gonna go have more fun inside the Capitol. You did it twice. So I hope they charge you twice because again, you did leave and then you went back. So that's kind of two separate crimes there, right? Prosecutors probably won't do that, but they absolutely could and should do that. But another thing that this story tells us because these women of course were arrested within the last week or two, there's still people out there that haven't been identified. There's still people that took place.
