4:23Now PlayingRudy Giuliani attempted to attack the credibility of Cassidy Hutchinson on Wednesday, and ended up confirming what she had said about him during Tuesday's hearing. Giuliani claimed that she couldn't have heard about him wanting a pardon because she wasn't in the room when he asked for one. He then clumsily tried to walk back this stunning admission by saying that he told Trump he didn't want or need a pardon, but the damage was done. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

So following Cassidy Hutchinson's, uh, testimony on Tuesday where she said that Rudy Giuliani of course sought a presidential. Pardon? Giuliani tried to fire back at Hutchinson on Wednesday and accidentally implicated and confirmed, uh, what she had said, implicated himself and confirmed what she said. So Giuliani got on Twitter, trying to of course discredit Hutchinson. And here's what he had to say. The January 6th witch hunt cabal has now exceeded even its prior fraudulent. Okay. The last witness was a reckless liar, contrary to her false testimony. She was never present when I asked for a pardon. So, so you did ask for a pardon though. Thus confirming what, what she said here. Rudy, do you not, do you not think about your tweets before you send him out bud? Because you're literally saying like, oh, she's totally a liar because she wasn't even there when I went begging for a pardon, so ha ha.
I got you loser. Nope. You just implicated yourself in the exact behavior that she said you had engaged in. And of course, Giuliani, frantically tried to cover that up by adding actually I told the president I did not want or need one. Oh, okay. Well that clears it up. So you admitted that you asked for one and then you said, but then I, I told Trump, like, even though I'm asking for one, I, I don't want one. I don't need one, but I, I would like one and for the record, yes, Rudy, you do in fact need a presidential. Pardon? You did need it at the time because let's not forget you were. And currently, still are under federal investigation for, uh, possibly acting as a, uh, foreign agent foreign lobbyist without registering here in the United States, you are still under that criminal investigation and a presidential pardon would have, of course basically given you a get outta jail free card for that.
But here's the thing asking for a presidential, pardon is not a crime, but according to the us Supreme court receiving a presidential, pardon is the equivalent of admitting to a crime. And therefore you waive all of your fifth amendment rights. So Giuliani of course is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do you continue to try to deny what casidy Hutchinson says, even though in your denial, you admitted that she was in fact telling the truth or do you try a new set of talking points seeing as how nothing that you have been throwing out there has stuck within the past week. You know, your son suffered a humiliating loss in the New York, uh, Republican primary for that governor's race. So you no longer have to, you know, kind of keep the charade up in order to help your son's campaign. Trump's not returning your calls.
Rudy, last we had heard, he's not even paying your legal bills and I'm not talking about the fees to your lawyers. I'm talking about the fees that you incurred while representing him, right? We have not had any confirmation that Donald Trump has paid. Those bills that Rudy had sent to him in early 20, 21. That's around the time. Of course, when Juliani was like, Hey, you owe me for this legal work that Trump stopped returning his calls. You owe this man, nothing, hitching yourself to him is continuing to damage your entire legacy. And yet you're still out there every day, defending him and attacking these witnesses on the January 6th committee. You don't have to go down this path, bud. You of all people know that you could cut a deal with this committee, possibly avoid prosecution yourself.
