Georgia DA Says Trump Probe Could Lead To Prison Sentences

Fulton county, Georgia district attorney Fannie Willis did an interview with the Washington post this week, where she basically laid out the fact that what she is doing over there with this investigation in Georgia, the investigating Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, uh, actually 17 total targets in her investigation, both for election of interference in Georgia, as well as the fake elector scheme. She wants everybody to know that this is not something that's just a little mediocre. Oh, let's do a couple things and then we're gonna disappear. No, she said, quote, the allegations are very serious. If indicted and convicted, people are facing prison sentences. Now she said people, she didn't say Donald Trump. She didn't say Rudy Giuliani. She didn't say Sidney Powell or Lindsay Graham. She just said, people not person, people prison sentences. Now the reason I think that this small little statement is so important is because Willis wants to remind everybody again.

As I said, that this is a very serious investigation taking place in Georgia. And I know out of all the investigations that Donald Trump is facing all the lawsuits, the one in Georgia kind of gets overlooked the most, but it has been going on for a very long time, but there are a couple of, uh, unfortunate caveats that do go along with that investigation. First and foremost, this isn't a grand jury. It's a special grand jury, a grand jury. When they conclude can send out indictments, right? They can basically say, we're arresting you. We're charging you with this special grand jury cannot do that special grand jury. Like the ones set up in Georgia can only recommend criminal referrals kind of like the January 6th committee, right? They don't have the actual authority to charge somebody. They have to send the recommendation to somebody else and hope that they do it.

That's the same thing with this grand jury. And of course that could end up being a massive hurdle because this is Georgia. You got a lot of Republicans all over the state, including Republicans calling the shots at the very top of the state. So even if Willis comes out with criminal charges or recommendations for criminal charges, we have no guarantees at all that the Republicans in Georgia are gonna follow through with it, right? Like, well, we don't know. Maybe we will. Maybe we won't, who knows. So that of course is very unpleasant, but she also wants to send a shot across the bow here because we have had multiple different people try to not cooperate with this Fulton county grand jury. Rudy Giuliani is a great example. Lindsay Graham is another example. They didn't want to come and testify. And I think part of it has to do with, oh, why are we gonna go talk to this little da

Down in, you know, Podunk, Georgia. And so she's sending this message in the media saying we're very serious. People are probably going to jail. And I think of course at this point, based on, uh, the information we have about Kathy Laham, who has now been caught on video, uh, inside the elections office, allowing people to access the data there, which she actually swore under oath, she was not there. Um, so you got her for perjury, at least Kathy Laham is gonna go to jail. Like there's no, if ands or butts about it, you got her on video doing the thing that she swears under oath.
