Trump Lawyer Hit With Ethics Complaint Over Fake Elector Scheme

One of Donald Trump's lawyers during the events around January 6th, Kenneth Chesebro, has been hit with an ethics complaint by lawyers and other legal affiliated-individuals in New York over his role in the fake elector scheme. The complaint was sent directly to the New York Supreme Court's attorney grievance committee. This could end up causing even more information about the scheme to become public, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

One of Donald Trump's former lawyers, Kenneth Chesbro, was hit with an ethics complaint this week after a legal group in the state of New York filed the complaint with the state Supreme Court's Attorney Grievance Committee. So what was their grievance? Well, according to the complaint, let's just read it here. Chesbro was the apparent mastermind behind key aspects of the fake electr ploy. It also accuses him of conspiring quote with Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, and others to subvert our democracy. They went on to call him quote, uh, uh, say that he used quote, dishonesty, fraud, deceit or reckless or intentional misrepresentation when violating the rules of conduct for lawyers licensed in New York. Now, that actually seems pretty cut and dry, right? Chesbro, along with Eastman and Giuliani, they are the ones who cooked up as far as we know, the phony elector scheme, where you had these states pick these Trump electors, they were gonna send them down to DC and say, No, we are the real electors.

Even though they weren't, right? Those were states that Biden had won. They were trying to circumvent the process, getting Mike Pence involved, who of course refused to get involved. This is, is the scandal that Ron Johnson, republican senator from Wisconsin says that he wasn't involved, but then he was involved and then he was involved for a full hour. So who knows how many other people, by the way, are involved in this. We still have no clue, but we could be learning more and more of that from the January 6th committee as we get closer and closer to the election. But the bottom line is this. They have a legitimate grievance against Mr. Chesbro that they filed now with this grievance committee. They said that he has been dishonest. This was deceitful, and this was outright fraud. So the committee is now going to have to take this into consideration.

Look at this and say whether or not Chesbro did this intentionally, you know, maliciously or was he also misled, didn't know what was happening, or did he genuinely believe all of this was legal? Now, some of the actions that could be taken against this individual, again, this former Trump lawyer, if he is found to have violated the ethics standards, he could lose his law license in New York. It could be suspended. You're not probably looking at any real legal action against him, but he may lose his livelihood in the state of New York. But this is more than just Mr. Chesbro facing this ethics complaint. This is a warning to all of Donald Trump's other lawyers. It's a warning that one of Trump's longest serving lawyers recently issued to Trump's lawyers, and that, of course, was Michael Cohen. Michael Cohen recently came out, told, uh, came out, told all of these, uh, Trump lawyers,

Y'all probably need to quit while you're ahead or else eventually he's gonna suck you down with them. Learn from my mistakes. Cohen basically said, and they didn't. And now we know what's happening. One of Donald Trump's lawyers, Rudy Giuliani, subject of multiple different criminal investigations, John Eastman, could be the subject of a criminal investigation for his involvement in the events leading up to January 6th. Now, we know Mr. Chesbro also involved in those events facing, uh, this ethics complaint. Christina Bob down in South Florida, uh, could be facing a possible obstruction probe. Same thing with Evan Corcoran down there in South Florida.
