The Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, is due in court this week to testify against the company, so Donald Trump is trying to butter him by saying wonderful things about him. But the things Trump is saying aren't exactly endearing Weisselberg in the hearts of Americans. Trump claims that Weisselberg was "tortured" by the feds for not paying taxes, but Trump doesn't realize that that is a big deal for most people in this country, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So this week, Donald Trump's, uh, Trump organization, Chief Financial Officer Alan Weisselberg, is set to appear in court to basically, as far as we know, throw the entire Trump organization under the bus in the criminal trial. That is beginning jury selection today. Now, Donald Trump is out there on truth social, trying to make it seem like Weisselberg, of course, is the victim, and everybody should have sympathy for him because Weisselberg is such a good guy. And of course, we all know exactly why Donald Trump is out there trying to butter up Alan Weisselberg right now. But here is what Donald Trump had to say about the unfortunate experience that Alan Weisselberg has been through Here it is the highly partisan Democrat, which hunt goes on this time in New York, where after viewing millions of pages of documents over many years, charges were brought against a longtime Trump executive who they tortured and threatened for years.

He then talked about, uh, the fact that they went after him for quote, not paying taxes on the use of company cars, the use of a company apartment, and the education of his grandchildren, and which, yeah, I mean, those, those are the crimes that he's accused of. And yes, those are crimes. You, you can't just do that. You can't take all these benefits, uh, financial and financially compensated from a company and not report them and pay taxes on them, Donald. So you're saying like all he did was these things and it's like, great, you just made the case for the prosecution because you're out there admitting that he did it, but Trump continued. No such fringe benefits case has ever been brought criminally in the us. Oh my God, I can't even finish reading the statement because it's just so incredibly false. Like that's not true at all.

Like nobody's ever been sued for tax fraud here in the United States. What is this? Tax fraud? I have never heard of this. This is a totally brand new thing that just popped up today. So the Democrats could take down my good buddy Alan Weisselberg. Dude, people get popped for tax fraud all the time. Big people, little people, important people, unimportant people. It doesn't matter. Tax fraud is tax fraud. And yeah, that's one thing. The US government is definitely gonna go after you for if you owe them money. If you owe the federal government money, by God, they're gonna come and get it from you. They don't care how many billions you have to your name, what company you work for, or if you're the top guy in the mob, if you owe 'em money, they're gonna come and get it. And that is exactly what is happening with Alan Weisselberg. But I also wanna talk about the fact that Trump used the word tortured. They tortured this man. No, they

Didn't. They gave him every possible opportunity to cooperate. They were throwing deals at him left and right. By the way, you know, they didn't want to go after Weisselberg. What they wanted was Weisselberg to flip on the rest of the members of the Trump administration, or excuse me, Trump organization. They're both basically criminal enterprises in my opinion. So, you know, they're indistinguishable. But Weisselberg could have gotten away with all of this. But he decided his loyalty to Trump was more important until, of course, he realized how long he could be looking at going to prison for.
