Lawyers for Donald Trump had a very difficult time finding jurors in the tax fraud lawsuit that didn't already hate the former President. Many jurors were dismissed because they held very negative views of Trump and couldn't be trusted to be impartial, but some members of the jury, it is reported, are not fans of the former President at all. This could end up costing Trump big time, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Well, folks, the tax fraud trial of the Trump organization is set to begin in Manhattan this week. Jury selection actually happened less, uh, last week, and things did not go well at all for Donald Trump's legal team. As it turns out, a majority of the people who showed up for jury duty that day and got put over to the tax fraud trial were almost immediately released because many of them admitted they could not be impartial jurors because they absolutely hated Donald Trump. Unfortunately, for Trump's legal team, though, they weren't able to get rid of everybody who hated Donald Trump because they ran out of, uh, objections. They ran out of the exemptions that you get. Cuz when you go to trial and you're picking your jury, each team, the prosecution and the defense, they get a certain number of, basically you're outta here. Cards and Trump's team ran out.

They had gotten so many people dismissed because they hated Trump, that they couldn't challenge any more jurors. So they have now ended up with at least three people on this 12 member jury who say that they hate Donald Trump. So I don't wanna say that the result of this trial is already a foregone conclusion, but it kind of seems like the result of this trial is already a foregone conclusion. Let me read what some of the jurors who actually got dismissed had to say, I absolutely hate him. He's a liar and he's a scam artist. He's a danger to our society. another one who was asked by a judge, Can you be impartial? This juror said, There's no chance in hell.

And the judge was like, Well, thank you very much, but you need to go. So at least these people were honest, right? We have to give them that credit. You know, they could have lied and said, Oh, I, I've never heard of this Trump fella. Put me on the jury. Haha, I gotcha. No, they were honest and they said, Listen, I cannot judge this man impartially. I know who he is. I know what he's done. I know what he is capable of. I believe he's a threat to democracy. I am not gonna sit here and let him get off with what is all pretty obvious to us that he did. So of course, again, the judge says, Well, thank you for your time. Appreciate you coming in, but uh, you go on and get outta here. We don't need you. But like I said, Trump's people, Trump's lawyers ran out of exemptions. So they got three out of the 12 jurors who pretty much agree with the statements. I hate Donald Trump. Now, it's important to remember that Donald Trump himself is not on trial here. This is the actual Trump organization. So Donald Trump is not going to be in that courtroom. Alan Weisselberg, of course, is the one who's gonna come in basically as the star witness. He has to cooperate, he has to tell the story of all the fraud that allegedly took place. So they're gonna hear from the people

Inside, but they're probably not going to hear from Donald Trump himself. They will likely see video clips of the depositions that Donald Trump and his children gave. But I don't think at this point any of them are expected to actually show up and have to testify on the stand. So that's what's happening again. Things are kicking off today with this trial, and Trump's legal team is already behind the eight ball because they couldn't find enough people who didn't already hate Donald Trump to serve on that jury.
