Elon Musk Reveals Twitter ‘Secrets’ Then Threatens To Sue Employees For Doing The Same

Elon Musk and his hand-picked journalists have been leaking "secrets" from Twitter for over a week now, but Musk wants to make it clear that he's the only one allowed to do this. According to reports, the new Twitter CEO has sent a message to employees letting them know that if they do what he's doing, they will be sued for violating their NDAs. Makes you wonder what he is hiding, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Well, if you've been on Twitter over the last, uh, nine, 10 days, you've probably seen the Twitter files coming across that website. We have now had several batches of the Twitter files from Matt Taibbi. We've had 'em from Barry Weiss, and Elon Musk has hyped all of them up saying, who, boy, we're gonna show the world what was happening behind the scenes at Twitter. And Musk, also, according to reports, had a different warning for the people still working at Twitter. As Elon Musk is giving access to all of the internal data that Twitter has to offer to these, uh, journalists, he's also reportedly telling his employees, if you guys leak data, I am going to sue you in addition to, I'm assuming firing them. So it's okay for Elon Musk and again, these reporters that he has reached out to, to selectively pick what gets released from Twitter's internal documents.

But if any of those employees in Twitter want to add anything supplemental to that, Elon Musk is warning them, you will be sued for violating your non-disclosure agreement that I of course had all of you sign. So the big question is, what are you hiding, Elon? And don't say that you're not, because it's pretty obvious that you are. If you've been paying attention to the Twitter files, you've noticed that everything that has been released is clearly very cherry picked. It's very targeted to make Democrats look bad, and Republicans look like the poor little victims, which of course, runs contrary to actually all available data showing that Twitter for many years has actually amplified conservative voices and hushed liberal ones. Like that's the data talking. That's not a bunch of idiots behind the scenes who didn't know how to implement their own policies. Nope. That's actually what the real data shows.

And the data never lies. But reporters can. CEOs can, and I've been through enough corporate documents myself to know that CEOs frequently lie. And of course to know that most of the time when they tell people to shut up or you'll get sued, it's cause they're hiding even more. Now, I haven't seen any Twitter documents myself, so I don't know if Elon is of course hiding more stuff. But based on the behavior that we have seen from other corporations throughout corporate history, it seems likely that Elon is worried that some employee out there is going to leak information that contradicts the narrative being crafted with these Twitter files. That's my best guess. Why else would you need to go and remind

These people that they sign non-disclosure agreements? They know that they know they're not allowed to do this. So why did you feel the need to remind them? That's what everybody needs to be thinking about. These people know they're legally not allowed to do it, but at a time when other Twitter information is being leaked to the public selectively, you may have one or two employees looking at this saying, that's not what happened. This is being taken out of context. This is being cherry picked. Maybe I'll just release the rest of it myself. Maybe that's what's happening Again, don't know for sure, but I think those are definitely questions that Elon Musk needs to answer. Why did you feel the need to remind employees right now at this particular time, that if they leak to the press, you'll sue them? Doesn't, doesn't seem like something you would need to do, unless, of course there are things that you're trying to hide.
