Nikki Haley Takes A Shot At Trump While Teasing Presidential Run

During a recent interview on Fox News, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley took a shot at politicians like Trump for being too old for the job of President before hinting that she might be running in 2024. Haley said that she "thinks" she could be that leader to usher in a new generation of politicians to replace the aging hangers-on that we have now, but the polls right now are telling us otherwise. During a recent appearance on Fox News, former UN Ambassador and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley decided to not only tease a potential 2024 presidential bid, but she also decided to take a shot at Donald Trump. And of course, president Biden, in teasing her decision, she was asked by host, Brett Bayer basically point blank like, Hey, are you gonna run for President 2024? To which she kind of danced around it. And she had this to say, does the current situation push for new leadership? And you know, am I that person that could be that new leader? We need to go in a new direction. I think I can be that leader. I don't think you need to be 80 years old to go to be a leader in dc. A lot has changed. And when I looked at that, I look at the fact that if I'm this passionate and I'm this determined, why not me?

So obviously the age thing is a dig at Donald Trump, who would be 78 by the time of the next presidential election. Joe Biden would be 82 at the time of the next election. So you average that to gather, boom, you get 80. So, uh, yeah, why not Nikki Haley? I mean, things have changed. She says, and indeed they have Nikki. But you need to look at something that has not changed. And what has not changed is the fact that you're polling at 1% or less right now. And another thing that has changed is that Donald Trump's favorability rating, his approval rating and his standing in the 2024 presidential polling has gone up. Well, it's gone up against everybody except for Biden. He's still loses to Biden, but he still wins handily. The Republican primary, second to Ron DeSantis. Third is Mike Pence. Literally, everybody else is under 2%.

And you fall into that category, Nikki. See, you don't really stand out to anybody, I'm sure probably the folks of South Carolina, they remember you as governor, right? Maybe some of them have a positive opinion of you. The rest of the country sees you as, okay, we weren't in your state when you were governor, but we saw you be a Donald Trump's sicken. We saw you go embarrassed the country as the, uh, ambassador to the United Nations. Why would we want you to be president? Like you? You don't even have any accomplishments to speak of other than kissing Trump's. So while you're right that we don't necessarily need somebody to be 80 years old to go up there to DC and be a good leader. In fact, we need to move away from the octogenarians. It ain't you. But I say that with this warning. You know, the polls right now do not matter. There was at one point in the 2016 Republican primary, which actually started in early 2015, your different front runners at one point included Scott Walker polling in the lead Jeb Bush polling in the lead. Hell, at one point, both Carly Fiorina

And Ben Carson were the Republican front runners before Donald Trump eventually ran away with it. So yeah, anything can happen, which I guess is what Nikki Haley's holding onto. But I gotta tell you, becoming president, I don't know that that is a thing that actually has a chance of happening in this.
