Trump's 2016 Campaign Staffers Officially Freed From Non Disclosure Agreements

The staffers that worked on Donald Trump's 2016 campaign are officially freed of the non-disclosure agreements that they were forced to sign. A settlement announced this week has released all of the staffers from the agreements, which also included non-disparagement agreements saying that staffers couldn't talk bad about the campaign. 422 former staffers of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign were freed this week officially. And finally from those non-disclosure and non-disparagement agreements that they were forced to sign in order to work on Trump's campaign in 2016. The reason this happened, of course, is because all the way back in 2018, you had a woman, uh, uh, by the name of Jessica Denson, who had worked on Trump's 2016 campaign who sued to basically get these non-disclosure and non-disparagement agreement thrown out. And it was a five year long legal battle. And by the way, the reason she filed it is cuz she says she was uh, uh, sexually harassed. And when she brought that up, they're like, Hey, you got a non-disclosure, you can't even tell us. You know, just suck it up and deal with it. So she sued and she was trying to get class action status for her lawsuit, right?

She wanted all these other staffers with the same non-disclosures to get in. Courts had already looked at these non-disclosures and said they were too broad, too overbearing, like they just can't be constitutional. But before she was able to get more people to join in the Trump campaign announced a settlement. Now, earlier this month, actually last month, January, um, the non-disclosure agreements were ruled. You know, you gotta do away with them. So technically people were freed back then, but that got held up because Trump, as part of the settlement, his campaign didn't wanna release the amount of money that Mrs. Denson was going to be paid. But the judge said, Nope, you gotta release it, or This settlement cannot happen. So it held it up, but this week finally happened. Everybody is freed. 422 people can now not only talk about everything that happened during that campaign, but they can finally talk bad about it.

That's the thing that gets me about these non-disparagement agreement. Like I get the non-disclosure, like you don't wanna give away our secrets and how we do things here, but the non-disparagement means these people were legally not allowed to criticize the campaign. That's what that means. You are legally forbidden from talking bad about the campaign. Not anymore. So now these people are freed. Now they can go out there in the media, they can tell their stories, they can write articles, they can write books if they want. I'm sure plenty of them already have ideas in mind like, yes, I want to do this. There's this thing I want to talk about and now we will know about it. I know it's a little after the fact, right? Seven years. But we'll finally learn more. And I guarantee you it's all gonna be disgusting. But for the most part, I also guarantee you that hundreds of these staffers are like, okay, great, whatever. I don't care. I've moved on with my life. But for those with good stories to tell, buckle up folks cuz we're gonna start hearing some of those pretty soon.
