4:07Now PlayingRepublicans and their allies are pulling out all of the stops to convince the public that they DON'T want to cut Social Security like President Biden said in his address last week, but they aren't having an easy time with that. Fox News has tried to claim that Biden is lying, but they can't actually provide any proof, and they accidentally confirmed that he was telling the truth - Just like Rick Scott did the day after the speech. It is pure panic in the GOP, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So I came across this story on Fox News the other day, and I just had to talk about it because it's so disturbing. And admittedly, this was one of the first times I had gone to the Fox News website, and God, I have no idea how long, but I just wanted to see what they had to say and it didn't disappoint. That whole website is basically a fantasy land of conservative talking points. But this one story stuck out to me. The headline on this story is, white House triples down on Biden's false claim. Republicans want to cut Social Security in Medicare. Biden is tripling down on it, folks, because Republicans don't want to cut Social security in Medicare, except of course for the Republicans who came out after the speech and doubled down on saying, we want to cut Social Security in Medicare. So they're living in an absolute fantasy world and they're running interference for the Republican party because of course they know the truth and they know how damaging that truth can be.
In fact, at one point in this article, they say, uh, talking about Biden saying Republicans wanna sunset these programs, which again, Rick Scott confirmed the day after the State of the Union last week. So we know they do want to do this. And Matt Gates has mentioned it, many other Republican politics, uh, politicians have mentioned it just this year. It's, it's their plan. It is 100% their plan. The sound clips, you know, the, the viral little videos, they're all over the place. You can find them. It's not that hard. So Fox News says this about Biden's claim. They're like, these facts in quotes have since been labeled as false and needs context by fact Checkers. The problem is they hadn't, and Fox News didn't provide any links. I mean, there's links all throughout the article, right? So you can go and check their sources on other things, but not on that.
Where they say that the fact checkers have said this isn't right. Like that's like the one thing on the article that though there's no links, there's no nothing. You can't find it. They don't even talk about it again after that. It's just, no, this has been labeled false. Let's move along to our next point. This is how Fox News operates. And that's why honestly, it was important for me to go to this website and look at this garbage because they don't bother to even pretend that they're not making things up. I mean, this is insanity, but here's the thing. Right now, Fox News, as I said, it is an extension of the Republican Party. They are running interference for them because they know how damaging this plan to cut Social Security and Medicare really is. And yes, that is what the Republicans want to do. Rick Scott has tripled down on it and the White House has come out, uh, Sunday and Monday so far and said, we're gonna keep hammering this. This is our plan. This is our agenda now to point out how devastating and damaging the Republican agenda is. And it's a good plan because you've got the entire Republican party right now,
Now scrambling doing damage control because of this plan. Hell, Mitch McConnell had to come out on Friday and attack Rick Scott saying, whoa, whoa, whoa. The plan to cut Social Security. That's, that's not a Republican plan. That's a Rick Scott plan.
