Fox News Calls Out Ron DeSantis' Bad Behavior While Also Defending It

On Sunday, Fox News host Howard Kurtz attempted to both admonish and defend Ron DeSantis over allegations that he partied with underage women while he was their teacher. The photographs are clear as day, and Kurtz said that DeSantis should not have done it, but then he defended DeSantis from accusations (including those from Trump) that he is a "groomer." Fox News host Howard Kurtz this past Sunday, both, uh, defended and apparently attacked Ron DeSantis over the, uh, photograph of him drinking it up with underage women while Ron DeSantis was their teacher about 20 years ago. And this of course, is an attack that Donald Trump has levied on him. Other conservatives, MAGA types have jumped on it as well. Calling Ron DeSantis a groomer. But Kurts didn't want any of that. He didn't think it was fair. And he also thinks it's terrible what Ron DeSantis did. So he's literally trying to have it both ways. Like how dare you call him these things? And also, Ron, how dare you do these things? That's terrible. Here is what Howard Kurtz had to say. Trump is actually questioning DeSantis sexuality and recycling a two decade old suggestion about grooming young girls when he was a high school teacher again 20 years ago.

Maybe he shouldn't have been drinking at a party with young women when he was a teacher. But there hasn't even been a whisper of an allegation. Did he have any relationship with any of these students? Why doesn't the press challenge this Howard, I can't believe I gotta explain this to you, bud, but, but let me go ahead and tell you this. For a person of age to be drinking with children who are underage, that's not legal for a teacher to be hanging out in a social setting with their students. That's also not, I can't say it's illegal, but it's not allowed in school districts like that is grounds for termination immediate yet, Lee. And then when you add those two things together, right, not just a teacher hanging out, socializing with students, not just a random adult drinking with underage children. When you add 'em together, that's a fireable offense that should have basically ended rhon DeSantis career.

He doesn't have to have allegations of sleeping with the underage, underage women. Nobody ever suggested that. All they suggested was, holy wow, this is a massive ethical violation by this guy. That that's the whole point. So you can't just dismiss it and be like, why isn't the press challenging it? Do you want the press to start looking at this? Howard, do you want the press to track down the women in those photos? Do you want former students of Ron DeSantis to speak out publicly? Oh, because by the way, they have, that's not something new. They've talked about what a horrible teacher he was. They talked about how he literally whitewashed American history 20 years ago. And yeah, some of them brought up the partying as well. So if you want the press to challenge this, I encourage the press to take you up on that offer, because I can promise you, Howard, you're not gonna like what the press is gonna find.
