Trump Is Destroying DeSantis In Latest Poll

A Morning Consult poll published on Tuesday shows Donald Trump with his largest lead to date over rival Ron DeSantis. Trump is now supported by 60% of Republican primary voters, compared to DeSantis who sits at just 27%. However, actually-declared candidate Nikki Haley is still polling in the single digits, meaning DeSantis is still the only "threat" to Trump's campaign. Donald Trump may be falling in the national polls. His approval rating has dropped four points in the last week, ever since he was indicted. But in the Republican polls for the 2024 Republican nominee, Donald Trump is absolutely crushing it. He now has the biggest lead yet over top rival Ron DeSantis, beating him by 33 points. Trump is at 56% among Republican voters. Ron DeSantis is at 23% among Republican voters. So again, this is the biggest lead that Donald Trump has had over Ron DeSantis since the head-to-head matchup started being pulled all the way back in December. It gets worse for the rest of the Republican field because Nikki Haley, who has officially obviously declared that she is running, uh, she's at 4% four, uh, Mike Pence is at 7%. Liz Cheney, who as far as we know, is not running, at least at the moment, is at 3%.

Then everybody else is either at 1% or less than 1%, including former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, who is also officially running for president. His numbers are so low they don't even register. So Trump's got this thing in the bag. DeSantis is effectively dead on arrival at this point with his campaign. That may happen. It may not happen. Who knows? They're, they're waiting on the Florida Republicans to repeal the resign to run law so that he can enter the race. But at this point, Donald Trump has already bludgeoned him enough that I don't think DeSantis has a shot at all of winning that nomination. Not just now, but possibly ever, because it's not just Donald Trump that has caused all this damage to Ron DeSantis. Believe it or not, DeSantis has caused a lot of damage to Ron DeSantis because now that he's on the national stage, now that everybody in the country is paying attention to him, they realize that this man is a blithering idiot that has no policies outside of the Republican culture war.

He doesn't know what to do on economics. He doesn't know what to do on taxes. He doesn't know what to do on the environment. He doesn't know what to do in the military. The guy doesn't know a single thing about actually governing. And now that people are starting to scrutinize his record, he's looking worse and worse to voters across the country, at least with Donald Trump. They know what to expect. Yeah, it's not good. I mean, Republicans think it's good. Moderates and independents have already abandoned the Republican party, so these polls are telling us that the Republicans are headed for certain disaster. Going going to lose. And right now with the numbers the way they are, especially after the indictment, it doesn't look like Donald Trump is gonna be seeding that uh, uh, nomination anytime soon. It's his to lose at this point, even with the indictments against him. So Republicans have said he's our guy, and we'll see how that plays out for him in the general election next year.
