Republican Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy made it clear yesterday that he was prepared to move forward with contempt charges against FBI director Christopher Ray if Ray missed the deadline to turn over all of their Hunter Biden materials to the House of Representatives. Well, folks, that deadline was yesterday afternoon and Mr. Ray did not turn over all of the Hunter Biden documents, as the FBI said they wouldn't do because they cannot do. But it is weird, isn't it? I mean, Kevin McCarthy is not the one in charge of the committee. That is actually James Comer and Comer's been having this very public fight with Christopher Ray and the FBI for many weeks now. The FBI has said, we are willing to work with you to the extent that we can. We will give you everything that we are able to give you. But please understand there are things we cannot give you.

The F B I told James Comer because if we do, you are gonna make them public, and that's pretty much gonna destroy our investigation. So you want Hunter Biden behind bars. If we give you this stuff, you are going to destroy our ability to possibly do that in the future. Is that what you want? Well, apparently the answer is yes. They do want that. They would rather blow up the Hunter Biden investigation and embarrass him than let the investigation play out and possibly result in jail time for Hunter Biden or any of the other parties involved. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever, unless you remember that this is not about criminality. This is a political hit job being performed by Republicans. But it still doesn't answer the question, why is Kevin McCarthy having to go out there and threaten to hold Christopher Ray in contempt? Well, the answer to that should be obvious to everyone, right?

Kevin McCarthy, as I'm sure everybody is aware of right now, has negotiated a debt ceiling deal with the Democrats, a debt ceiling deal that a lot of Republicans in the house don't like. I don't think it's a majority of Republicans, but I think it's a lot. We already have one Republican saying, I'm gonna get Kevin McCarthy ousted his speaker. So why did Kevin McCarthy come out and start talking about the Hunter Biden investigation and that we're gonna, you know, issue a contempt charge against the director of the F fbi? Because Kevin McCarthy needed a political win because Kevin McCarthy needed a way to placate his fellow Republicans who may not be happy with that debt ceiling deal. So Kevin McCarthy strategically came out and he said, don't worry comer, I'll take it from here. I will issue the threat. I will show the country our Republican voters, that I am not a coward, that I am not going to negotiate with everybody, and I will be the one to issue this warning to Christopher Ray.

That is what this is about. Again, this has nothing to do with actually uncovering any criminality by Hunter Biden. The FBI has made it clear, if you expose this information that you're asking us for, you're going to destroy our investigation, which is why we can't give it to you. Republicans say, we don't care. We just wanna embarrass him. Kevin McCarthy says, well hold up. If you're not gonna do what we're asking you to do, I do have the authority to hold you in contempt. So I'll go out there in the media and I'll say that because everybody's at me about the debt ceiling.
