Tucker Carlson Is Practically Begging Fox News To Sue Him

According to new reports, Tucker Carlson is allegedly trying to raise money to create a new media outlet to compete with Fox News. At this point, the former Fox host is basically begging his old network to sue him for breach of contract. Fox has sent cease and desist letters to Fox over his "show" on Twitter, but he continues to pump out content. But if these new reports are accurate, they could be one step too far and finally cause Fox to file suit. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

At this point, it really feels like Tucker Carlson is just begging Fox News to try to sue him for breach of contract. So in case you haven't been paying attention, what's been happening for the last couple weeks is, uh, Tucker Carlson has launched his show on Twitter. And according to the contract that he signed with Fox News, that does not expire until January of 2025. Tucker Carlson is not allowed to do any kind of media outside of Fox News, and the contract is so extensive, it even says he can't do media that hasn't even been invented yet. But here he is doing his show on Fox News. Fox has had their lawyers send multiple cease and desist letters at this point and Tucker says, Nope, I'm just gonna keep on doing it. And then we learned yesterday that Tucker Carlson is not just doing a show on Twitter, but he is reportedly raising money to launch his own network that is apparently going to be a rival to Fox News.

So again, kind of seems like this guy at this point wants Fox News to sue him. Cuz not only is he defying the subpoena, uh, excuse me, contract, but he's openly raising money according to these reports to start his own conservative media outlet, which for the record he already has because he does own the daily caller. So it could be daily caller tv, you know, something to that effect. But whatever it is, it would be a violation of the contract if it goes on the air before January, 2025. And only if it also includes Tuck Tucker Carlson himself, which I assume it likely would. But Carlson isn't afraid. Like that's what's so weird about all of this, like we've seen the pieces of the contract, right? It's pretty airtight. What Tucker Carlson is doing right now is wrong based on that contract. So why is he poking the bear?

See, that's the part that I haven't yet figured out because it doesn't make any sense to me. Does Tucker think that his legal team is good enough that they'll be able to get him out of whatever trouble it is he's getting himself into? Does he think that his legal team is so good that they're gonna be able to get the contract nullified in court? Honestly, I think that's what he thinks, but again, based on the wording in that contract, based on the pieces that we have seen that have been made public, I don't see how he gets out of it. So he's either thinking he knows something we don't, and he could because we haven't seen the whole contract or, he's just in full self-destruct mode and doesn't care if he destroys his entire empire in the process. I guess we'll find out which one of those is as this story just continues to flop along.
