Republicans Don't Even Have The Votes To Impeach Biden In The House

Everyone knows that Republicans wouldn't have the votes to convict and remove President Biden in the Senate if he were to be impeached, but now it is looking like Republicans don't even have the numbers to impeach him in the House of Representatives. Republicans would only need a simple majority to impeach, but the number of Republicans that have come out against impeachment (including a prominent Freedom Caucus member) tells us that they wouldn't even be able to get that done. So this week, aside from all the horrible stuff happening with Donald Trump and the horrible stuff happening with Ron DeSantis campaign, uh, and of course the record heat waves, the boiling seas down in South Florida, we got a lot going on in the country, but republicans in Congress don't want you to think about any of that. You know, they, they tried to distract you this week with, hey, aliens are real according to this one dude, but he's got no evidence to back it up. Um, but mostly they've been talking about impeachment. Kevin McCarthy kicked off the week by going on Sean Hannity's program, telling him that the investigation into Biden, uh, may very soon lead into impeachment inquiry territory, which of course would give Republicans more clearance to, you know, conduct a full blown investigation in a broader scope than they're already doing. Here's the problem with impeachment.

Even as, uh, Kevin McCarthy starts to come around and think, you know what this is, uh, we could do this, and you got plenty of other Republicans pushing it in the House of Representatives. Now, the biggest problem as everyone knows is that you're not gonna get two thirds of the Senate to vote to convict and remove him. So even if you impeach him in the house, it's not gonna do anything because the trial in the Senate goes nowhere. But now Republicans have an even bigger problem than not being able to impeach 'em in the Senate because it appears that Republicans don't even have the numbers to impeach 'em in the house. Folks, the current makeup of the US House of Representatives is 222 Republicans to 212 Democrats, a 10 person differential, which means if you take five people away from the Republicans and they go and vote for the Democrats, you've got a tie two 17 to two 17.

And I can tell you right now that there are more than five Republicans in the House of Representatives who very clearly are not in favor of impeaching President Biden. And I'm not just talking about all the moderates in the swing districts out there who know how toxic it is. I'm also talking about one member of the House Freedom Caucus, right? The extreme far right members in the house. Ken Buck came out this week, interview on cnn, and he says this, it's absolutely Congress's role to look at a possible impeachment. But I also think that, that if that is just a political game, uh, the, that we need to make sure that the criminal case goes forward. But this is impeachment theater. We right now are starting the appropriations process, and there is not consensus on the Republican side about what the numbers should be. Kevin McCarthy promised when he was running for speaker one, set a numbers, and then he made an agreement, president Biden, for the debt ceiling increase and another set of numbers. So he immediately is like, yeah, this, this is all theater. You know, if we had a case, we'd bring a case, but this is theater. We need to be talking about this budget thing. Have you seen the, oh God, what,

What, what a crazy budget. Can we please not talk about Impeaching Biden? They don't have the numbers. They don't have the numbers. You've got House of Representatives members screaming at the top of their lungs, including people like George Santos saying Impeach Biden now. And they haven't even done a wellness check on their own party to see if they have the numbers.
