Nikki Haley Says Republicans 'Too Smart' To Vote For Convicted Felon, But Says She Still Will

During an interview with CBS this past weekend, Republican candidate Nikki Haley claimed that Republicans were "too smart" to vote for Trump IF he gets convicted, but then made sure to let everyone know that SHE will still support him, no matter what, if he is the Party's nominee. During an appearance on CBS's Face the Nation this past weekend with host Robert Costa, Republican presidential candidate, Nikki Haley effectively admitted that, hey, Republicans are too smart to vote for a convicted felon to be their party's nominee. And then she immediately said, but I will totally do that if I have to, to beat those pesky Democrats. So do you know the level of, I don't even know if I wanna call it mental gymnastics, needed to say that no smart person would do this thing, but I will do this thing now. Take a minute. Take a minute and understand what that means. Like what that says about the person. Like a smart person wouldn't pick up this piece of paper, but I will pick it up. That's me telling you like I'm not smart, which is exactly what Nikki Haley did in this interview. Let me read how that exchange took place.

Uh, the question from Robert Costa was quote, when you were on that debate stage in Milwaukee, which has urged you some good reviews inside of the party, inside of the Republican party, you raised your hand, said you would still support him if he was convicted of a crime. And the nominee next year, do you stand by your decision to hold up your hand on stage and back Trump should he be the nominee and be a convicted felon? And this is what Nikki Haley said, what you saw were candid. It's on that stage. Uh, said they, they would do exactly what they signed and pledged to do, which is support the Republican nominee. I don't think President Trump's going to be the nominee. I think it's going to be me. But I will tell you that any Republican is better than what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are doing. But you are implying that the American people are not smart. The American people are not going to vote for a convicted criminal. The American people are going to vote for someone who can win a general election. And so I think that yes, I will support the Republican nominee always, and I will make sure that that person, we're going to pick someone that's going to beat a president Kamala Harris, because we can't have a president, Kamala Harris, who will never get our country back.

So you're saying the American public is too smart to vote for a convicted felon. Like you're acting like they're not smart and they're gonna vote for 'em anyway. They are smart. So they're not gonna vote for they's what you're implying, and then you immediately say, but I will vote for them because you're not smart. And maybe that's not what you meant to say, but if that's not what you meant it to mean, then that actually further proves the point that you're not smart because you weren't smart enough to know that you were admitting that you weren't smart. So you're either dumb or you're really dumb. Like so dumb. You didn't know you were dumb. I don't know which one it is, but it's definitely one of the two, because you admitted it on live TV this past Sunday.
