4:50Now PlayingFollowing the release of court filings this week, Donald Trump falsely claimed that the FBI, under President Biden's direction, was given orders that they could assassinate Trump when they executed the search warrant for government documents at Mar-a-Lago. This is not true at all and is a complete misinterpretation of the order, but Trump used it as a distraction so that people would ignore the fact that the unsealed documents also said that MORE classified documents were found at his golf resort months after the FBI conducted their search. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump falsely and baselessly claimed this week that President Biden had authorized the FBI to use lethal force against him when they carried out their search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. Now, that's not a thing that actually happened, by the way, more on that in just a minute. But Donald Trump, of course, as everybody knows by now, sent out this post on Truth Social that said, authorize the FBI to use deadly lethal force. Now we know for sure that Joe Biden is a serious threat to democracy. He is mentally unfit to hold office. 25th Amendment. And then to follow that up, he sent out a campaign email that said, quote, they were authorized to shoot me. That was the subject line. You know they're just itching to do the unthinkable. Joe Biden was locked and loaded, ready to take me out and put my family in danger.
Now, here's what happened, right, court filings this week were unsealed that showed that Donald Trump's search warrant against him did in fact authorize the FBI if necessary to use lethal force. Now, the FBI has of course, issued a statement saying, all of our search warrants do that. Like, this was not specific to Donald Trump. It's actually just what we do to protect our agents in case they are attacked, they're allowed to retaliate. Okay? It's not like they're gonna go in guns blazing, no, they can retaliate with deadly force. Donald Trump, of course, didn't want to put in that context or even clarify that this is actually how all search warrants are conducted. So he made it seem like President Biden was of course, trying to murder him, and he even raised some money off of it. Now, it's not unusual for Donald Trump to take something totally out of context, twist it to his benefit, but there is a very specific reason why Trump did this outside of the fundraising efforts.
One, of course, is to put Biden in danger because he thinks that his crazy base will go and do something to Biden to retaliate, and I think that is likely to happen as well. But the most important reason Donald Trump did this was to distract everybody from what else was in those court filings, right? Those court filings not only showed us that more documents, more classified documents were found at Mar-a-Lago months after the FBI executed their search warrant. But it showed us that those documents that were found were actually in Trump's bedroom. So there's no excuse whatsoever as to why he didn't turn those over. That's massive. I don't know if people understand the gravity of that, but they found more classified documents after the search warrant, and of course, after Trump's people had confirmed they gave everything back. That's, I can't underscore how huge that is, guys.
And it gets worse because Federal Judge Beryl Howell, who of course signed off on the search warrant, said this, no excuse is provided as to how the former president could miss the classified marked documents found in his own bedroom at Mar-a-Lago. Howell also notes that the government forced Trump's attorneys to search Trump's properties even after FBI investigators searched Mar-a-Lago in August of 2022.
