But the fact is that every single poll that has been released since the conviction shows the exact opposite happening, so the advice of these allies flies in the face of reality. While his base is energized, they were going to vote for him no matter what, so that doesn't really count. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

One of the funniest things to me that has happened to Donald Trump since his felony convictions is the fact that you actually have Republicans out there, strategists, members of Congress, and of course, very close allies of the former president that are telling him that these convictions are somehow going to help him. We have heard multiple Republicans from both the House and the Senate come out in the last week and a half saying that these convictions are great for him. The whole public, they tell us is going to rally behind him. It's gonna energize the base. Look at the massive fundraising hall he got from all these stupid people. Oh, things are great in Trump world, right? Well, if you believe that Donald Trump's criminal conviction is somehow going to help him in November, um, then you obviously have not been paying attention to literally anything other than what Trump is saying.

Since the conviction was handed down, we have had more than a dozen polls now conducted since that conviction. Every single one of them, there is not a single outlier in the bunch. And every single one of them has shown that Trump has lost support, including from Republican voters since the conviction was handed down. Nevertheless, these idiots in the house, idiots in the Senate, these people that love Trump so much, they're willing to deny reality. They're literally telling him, this is gonna be great for you. This is gonna be the best thing ever. Now, here's the thing, the base, they're riled up about it, and those are of course, the people that helped him raise that, you know, 300 million, a hundred million, whatever it is, the numbers keep changing. So, you know, view it with a grain of salt. But they did give him a lot of money.

But those are people that probably would've already given Trump money anyway. Like Trump's not attracting anybody new. Oh, but the base is energized. Yeah, those people were all gonna go to the polls in November and vote for Donald J. Trump. So energizing, getting the people excited who were already excited to vote for you, does not add anything to your campaign. It's so dumb to even mention it, but that's what they think is happening. They think because the crazy people are more crazy than usual, somehow it's gonna convince the not crazy people to get crazy, and the polls are showing it ain't happening, guys. So if you want to live in your little bubble with Donald Trump in that perfect world where a criminal conviction makes you more endearing to the public, then feel free to continue to live there. I have no problem with that. I have no problem with y'all telling him that these convictions are gonna be the best thing that ever happened to him, because the polls are showing us what is happening to him,

And it's not anything that any political candidate would ever wanna see. But that's reality. And reality can't penetrate Donald Trump's bubble. So he's gonna continue listening to the morons telling him that everything's great, up is down, right, is left. You've got nothing to worry about.
