Newsmax Humiliated Trump By Running Legal Disclaimer During His Interview

Donald Trump did an interview on the right wing network Newsmax this week, and he is probably glad that he couldn't see what was happening in real time. As Trump, via phone, was talking, Newsmax ran a legal disclaimer at the bottom of the screen saying that the network accepts the results of the 2020 election - dismantling Trump's "big lie" about the election being stolen. Even though Trump didn't mention the 2020 election, the network still ran the disclaimer to avoid any legal problems, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump called in for an interview on Newsmax this week. He was not on screen, he was just there via telephone. Uh, even though by the way, it's all really not common practice for media outlets to do that anymore. Seeing as how we have Skype and we have Zoom and so many people across the country have, you know, worked on home studios or at least kind of backdrops where they can do video calls. So there's no reason why Trump couldn't have connected via some kind of video. But anyway, Newsmax host Corey Lewandowski who of course used to be Trump's campaign manager, let Donald Trump call in and do do an interview. And uh, at one point during the interview when the network apparently got a little scared that Donald Trump was treading into territory where he might spread some election lies, the network humiliated him by running a Chiron on the bottom of the screen that said, Newsmax accepts the 2020 election results as legal and final.

Now what's interesting about this little legal disclaimer is of course they're doing it 'cause they don't want to get sued. They don't want it to be used against them in any of the defamation lawsuits that they're still facing. So they were like, we gotta put this up 'cause Trump is talking and we're afraid he's about to go into territory that could get us sued. And the funny part is that Trump hadn't said anything yet. And in fact throughout the entire interview he did not mention the 2020 election being stolen. You know, he didn't talk about his big lie, but Newsmax got so scared by the path that he was going down. And I'll read that in a moment, that they're like, screw it, put up, put up the disclaimer right now. Right now he's about to get us sued. We know he is gonna say it.

He is gonna say it, put it up. And they did. And of course it's basically saying this guy is about to lie, so be careful. So what was Trump saying that prompted them to immediately put the disclaimer on the screen? Trump was saying once we get it going and once we're in power and we have to be because we're not gonna have a country if we don't win this election, November 5th, if we don't win this election, we won't have a country left, Corey, we're not gonna have a country. And you know that better than anybody. That's when they put it up there. 'cause they immediately thought, okay, he's about to say that they're stealing democracy. Let's get the chiro going, show the world that he's about to lie to them. And then he kept going and said, we're laughed at. They think we're fools. They can't believe that Biden is the president and we're gonna turn that around. We're gonna turn it around very fast. And then that was it. He did not mention the 2020 election results, but it doesn't matter. The humiliation was done. They put that up there letting everybody know that hey, 2020 election wasn't stolen, the results are legal and final. And even Newsmax accepts that because they thought he was going down that path. That is absolutely

Humiliating for that man. And to be honest, it's a good thing he wasn't on screen with video and didn't have a return feed. 'cause he would've seen that. But because he was just on the phone, he didn't get to see it, he didn't get to see that Newsmax was preemptively calling out a lie that they were certain he was gonna tell.
