3:58Now PlayingRepublicans have been telling us for weeks that pets and park geese have been going missing in Springfield, Ohio, and they blamed it on Haitian migrants. While the pet-eating has been thoroughly debunked, there was still the question of where the geese had gone. And now we have an answer – there WAS a goose-killer in Springfield, but it turns out it was just a middle-aged white man that was killing them. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

For weeks now, the lies from Republicans about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio have wreaked complete and total havoc upon that town. JD Vance has pushed the narrative that they were eating the dogs and eating the cats, and of course, taking the geese from the park and eating the geese. Donald Trump has repeated it. Plenty of other Republicans, both in office and in the uh, right wing media have also repeated that lie. A lie. That, by the way, has not only led to increasing threats against the Haitian community across the entire country, but it has shut down government buildings in Springfield hospitals, schools, children have had to have police escorts to go to school. Festivals have been canceled because of the threats the city is getting. The city has effectively been crippled because of these lies from Republicans. Now, we know that there were no incidents of Haitian migrants taking people's cats and dogs.
That has been thoroughly debunked. But the big question is, obviously you'd know if your dog or cat went missing, but the geese from the park, I mean, nobody owns the geese, right? Technically. So are they taking the geese because the geese have been disappearing. So where'd the geese go? Turns out there actually was a goose killer in Springfield, Ohio, a goose killer that, believe it or not, was arrested on the day of the presidential debate where Donald Trump went on TV and said, they're eating the dogs. They're eating the cats in Springfield. So who is this infamous goose killer of Springfield, Ohio that Republicans have been warning us about? Was it a Haitian migrant? Was it some other illegal immigrant? Was it just some dastardly person of color that Republicans want us to be afraid of? No. It was a 65-year-old white dude, just a regular old 64-year-old man, white man, who, uh, had been killing the geese in the park, and he was arrested and he was forced to pay. Get this a $200 fine for killing those parked geese. Case closed. That's, that's it. That's literally it. This whole kerfuffle was based on idiots posting fourth hand information on Facebook and a white guy killing the geese in the park. This town, as I said, has been crippled because of these right wing lies, and as per usual, the thing that Republicans are blaming on people of color or people from other countries, turns out it's the white guys doing it. And the big question is, why wasn't this a bigger story? Why wasn't
This actually out there to help debunk the hatred or maybe stop some of the hatred that the Haitian migrants are getting, right? I mean, the, the city deserves it. The Haitian community across the country deserves it. They deserve to be fully exonerated by people knowing that what was blamed on them was actually being done by a almost elderly white man. But no, media can't be bothered, right? The the Springfield stories, old news, let's not rehash it. Bull crap. This needs to be bigger news because again, you've got Republican politicians out there blaming people of color for what white people are actually doing.
