Republican representative Thomas Massey warned Donald Trump this week that his actions are, of course, going to cost Republicans their majorities in next year's midterm elections. Now, I have to add the caveat of course, that that is assuming we even have midterm elections next year, uh, Trump is already working with five Republican governors that he's mentioned, uh, to gerrymander their states so that Democrats can't possibly win. So, and of course, you know, republicans in Miami canceled their elections for this year. So they've done it once. Don't put it past them to do it again. So, assuming we have elections next year, Republican representative Thomas Massey says, the writings on the wall, Trump is the one who wrote it, and we're going to get slaughtered, metaphorically electorally, not physically, obviously, but Massey isn't referring to Donald Trump's hugely unpopular policies.

He's talking about the fact that Donald Trump is funding MAGA Republicans to primary people like Thomas Massey. You see, Donald Trump hates Thomas Massey. Massey, of course, was one of the only Republicans to speak out against Donald Trump's attack on Iran recently. He even worked on legislation to prevent Trump from being able to do that again. Uh, he, as far as I see, I think he voted against the big beautiful bill, maybe, uh, uh, yeah, he did vote against it, one of two house Republicans to vote against it. And so Trump has attacked him for months now. He's weak. He's ineffective. Um, so Trump with his, you know, over half a billion dollar campaign war chest is trying to find a primary opponent, a hardcore MAGA person to run against Massey. So Massey this week got on social media and simply said, attacking Republicans who lean, independent or libertarian is how Republicans Trump will lose the majority this midterm.

And to a degree he is right, because we have seen a lot of hardcore MAGA candidates, not just in special elections since Trump take took office, but in 20 24, 20 22, and 2020, they got their asses kicked. You know, the MAGA movement as a whole nationally can get a MAGA person in office. But when you start to break that down county by county, state by state, um, they're not so powerful, right? They really do not have that pull that Donald Trump likes to think that they have. They only have pull when you get them together nationally, like in a presidential election, state by state, county, by county, city, by city. Um, they're kind of few and far between, right, so not really a whole lot of electoral power there. And Massey knows that, and

Massey is not wrong when he says that. Putting up a more MAGA person to run against a moderate Republican in a purple district, that is a recipe for disaster for Republicans. But Trump doesn't care. He doesn't care if Republicans keep the majority or if they lose it, it doesn't matter to him. He's gonna do whatever the hell he wants to do anyway. He doesn't have to face the consequences. Even if they vote down everything he wants to do, he'll start signing more executive orders to do things, even if he's legally not allowed to do it. 'cause we've already seen him do that this year. So he doesn't care. He cares more about revenge against people like Massey than he does about Republicans losing the majority.
