Fox Host Begs Trump To Bring Back Child Labor To Replace Immigrants

Fox News host Charlie Hurt said that the solution to the looming labor shortage as Donald Trump deports vital workers is to just have children do those jobs. He also said that the government has to “stop paying people to NOT work,” which isn’t a thing that has ever been real. But his suggestion was already attempted in Florida where even the Republican-controlled legislature knew that the idea was horrible and shot it down. Over the weekend, Fox News host Charlie Hurt, suggested that we should just let children fill the jobs being vacated by the migrant workers that Donald Trump is deporting. Now, apparently Charlie Hurt has not been paying attention to what happened down here in Florida when republicans initially wanted to do that, and they tried to do it, and then it fell apart because they realized how stupid it was. But nevertheless, Charlie Hurt suggested, let's have the kids go out there in the fields in the 110 degrees summer heat to pick the crops for us, because, you know, Charlie Hurt's Lazy isn't gonna get off that Fox and Friends couch to go do it, so may as well have the kids do it. Here is what happened. Fox News was doing a segment on blueberry farms and how the federal government does, of course, have to subsidize the labor on blueberry farms, because believe it or not, it is exceptionally backbreaking work.

It is not easy. You're not just going out there like, oh, a couple blueberries. Hey, here we go. No, it is intense labor. And so the government, in order to, you know, keep blueberries flowing and have the industry make a profit subsidizes part of their labor. So host ranch, Rachel Campo Duffy was talking about the fact like, should we do this? Should we not? And to her credit, Campos Duffy says, you know what? Yeah, we should because otherwise this's an industry that could go completely belly up and bye-bye blueberries. But Charlie hurt Uhuh. He said, no, no. My solution to all this is you stop paying people not to work. And when you stop paying people not to work, they have to go out and get jobs. And the first jobs they go out and get are those wonderful, rewarding jobs like picking blueberries. I grew up pulling tobacco.

There are wonderful jobs in farming and construction. All of this that has sort of been handed over to largely illegal aliens allowed into the country to do all this cheap labor, also allow children to do it as summer jobs. The idea that your government, that your precious government doesn't allow children to work summer jobs and blueberry fields is just mind blowing to know. Oh, that's when Campo Duffy had to chime back in and be like, you know, it's, it's very difficult work. You know, you can't just put a 10-year-old out there and be like, go get all the blueberries. Um, you know, you're gonna come back later to find a body in 110, 120 degree heat in the summer. Um, so even Campo Duffy's, like, yeah, that, that doesn't seem like the smartest thing. And let me go ahead and add this point, Charlie. Um, you're arguing that, hey, when I was a kid, I worked pulling tobacco leaves and look how you turned out. So maybe that's not the best argument for, uh, you know, putting kids to work in the fields or in construction. Like you said, I don't think anybody wants to live in a house built by a 15-year-old, right? I mean, do you want 15, 14 year olds up there putting

Your new roof on? You gonna trust that somebody that's just doing the job over the summer, you know, doesn't know, has no experience, can't figure out what's going on. Those are the people you wanna trust to keep the rain off your head at night. Probably not. Here's the thing, Chuck, as I mentioned, Florida tried it. Ron DeSantis pushed legislation to replace the migrant workers with kids with child labor. And at first all the Republicans were like, oh, hell yeah, this is great. And then they got to the meat of it and they were like, no, we, we absolutely cannot do this. Like, this will not work. There's not enough kids to replace the migrant workers. And a lot of these are jobs that kids physically wouldn't be able to do.
