5:49Now PlayingThe Trump White House is absolutely melting down over the nonstop and exceptionally clever trolling coming from California Governor Gavin Newsom and his press office. Multiple members of the administration have expressed their anger about the posts, completely missing the point that they are mocking Trump and not meant to be serious. Newsom is standing by it, and his poll numbers have gone through the roof since the trolling started. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

The Trump White House is absolutely melting down over the fact that they have been now subjected to a full week of trolling by Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom. The trolling is clearly effective because you have had multiple people from this administration attack it online having just ridiculous meltdowns, including the little goblins. Stephen Chung. You have had Fox News hosts devote segments to it where they're saying this is unprofessional and unbecoming of a man who wants to seek a higher office because they don't even know that he's mocking Donald Trump with these online posts. Um, that's how dumb they are over at Fox. Meanwhile, and this is another thing, getting under the White House's skin Newsom, according to polls out this week, has gone from what reporters called Political Roadkill to being the top pick for Democrats for the 2028 presidential election. Like in the span of a week.
He went from being, you know, pretty down there in the polls, maybe didn't have a shot to being the top guy that Democrats were like, yeah, let's, we want this guy Now. We kinda like what we're seeing from him, and it's all because he's fighting Trump like Trump fights. He's fighting him on his level and he's winning. And honestly, I was saying to people in private earlier this week, and I'll go ahead and say it on the air right now, I think Newsom is going to be the nominee. I I want everybody to understand. That's not me saying I want Newsom to be the nominee, or I don't want Newsom to be the nominee. I am just saying based on what we are seeing, the way the trends are going, I think it's gonna be Newsome. And you wanna go a little bit further. I think he's gonna pick, uh, Cory Booker to be his running mate, either Cory Booker or Jasmine Crockett.
I would love to see it be Crockett, but I think that'll be the ticket. Again, I'm not saying I want that to be the ticket, I'm just gonna go ahead and make that prediction right now. August 22nd, 2025, that is my prediction for 2028. Now, all that aside, the White House is freaking out. In fact, they're freaking out so badly they can't even think because Politico actually reached out to, uh, deputy Press secretary Abigail Jackson, right? I guess Caroline Levitt was a little busy. So they reached out to Abigail Jackson and asked her like, Hey, Newsome shooting up in the polls, right? His, his, uh, uh, uh, social media accounts are going wild. He's gained like millions of new followers across all of his platforms. He's trolling Trump, he's using Trump's methods. What do you think about it? And Abigail Jackson, an official person working in the White House, responded to that email with a meme. It was a very popular meme by the way that she had crudely edited or had somebody crudely edit. And it's from the popular Show, mad Men. Uh, it's where one character is in an elevator and says something to, uh, John Han's
Character Don Draper, to the effect of, you know, I don't think you're a good person. And Don Draper responds with, I don't think about you at all. But instead of it being Don Draper and the other character, they put the seal of the California Government's press office on the guy saying, I don't think you're a good person. And they replaced Don Draper's face with Donald Trump saying, I don't think about you at all. Which of course, they also posted on social media. And then Newsom's Press office absolutely skewered it, saying The White House, we don't think about Gavin Newsom. Also, the White House sends Politico a meme about Gavin Newsom triggered weak, sad
