Crowd Roasts “Couch Lover” JD Vance As PR Stunt Backfires

Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and real life goblin Stephen Miller decided to take a tour of Washington, D.C. this week as part of a PR stunt to show how great Donald Trump’s authoritarian takeover is going. Things immediately went off the rails as the three ghouls were met by protesters shouting some of the funniest things we’ve heard in a long time, including about JD Vance’s relationship with furniture. Whatever the administration thought they were going to accomplish definitely didn’t happen, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

Steven Miller went to a union station in Washington, DC this week for a photo op with the 2000 National Guard troops that have been deployed to patrol the streets of Washington dc. The three men were supposed to be, you know, delivering burgers and getting their arms around the guys, all the photographers were there. Some press was there to do a quick q and a, but nothing went according to plan because the people of DC hate their guts. In fact, they were shouted down the entire time by hecklers. But I'm gonna read a couple out loud, and I, I'm gonna say the profanities, we're not gonna bleep it. I thought about censoring myself and not saying it, but I think it really loses something if you do that. I love these people. These are the people that deserve to be, you know, given free food. Uh, you know, instead of the Gestapo forces that are in DC somebody should be buying these folks meals. And that was just, you know, the profane ones, the hilarious ones. The rest of them obviously chanting, chanting things like, free dc go home, get out of here. We don't want you people calling them the Gestapo. But it's the, it's the couch references that really seem to get under vance's skin. In fact, at one point, after they did their little photo op, they're trying, you know, hegseth Vance and Miller trying to take questions from the reporters, but they can barely hear the reporters and have to shout their answers because the protesters were louder. So here's what happened. Stephen Miller tried to dismiss all the protesters to the press saying that, uh, they're just a bunch of elderly white hippies. So even if they are like, good, let's get them out in the streets again. But

A reporter asked JD Vance, Hey, uh, polls show that the residents of DC are not happy about Donald Trump's authoritarian takeover. They don't like these troops on their streets. What do you say to that? And Vance had to shout back again so people could hear him. He said, quote, I'm highly skeptical that a majority of DC residents don't want their city to be, to have better public safety and more reasonable safety standards within Washington dc I don't know what poll you're talking about. Maybe the same poll that said that Kamala Harris would win the popular vote by 10 points. Then he abruptly ended the press conference and walked away. Yeah, that's how a mature, responsible adult handles a question like that, trying to mock other people, and then getting pissy and saying, I'm taking my ball and going home. The protests worked. The name calling worked.
