60 violations in 50 days. ICE's own inspectors find violations of dozens of federal standards at the giant immigration tent facility at Fort Bliss. The tent encampment on the fort outside El Paso is called Camp East Montana, and it is a stain against the soul of this country. According to ICE inspectors, the encampment failed to properly monitor and treat some detainees medical conditions, lacked basic procedures for keeping guards and detainees safe, and for weeks did not provide many of them a way to contact lawyers, learn about their cases or file complaints. Expected to hold up to 2,700 migrants this month and as many as 5,000 by the end of the year, it has been publicly described as a prototype for the large scale facilities ICE is hoping to achieve. The company Acquisition Logistics LLC was selected to oversee the $1.2 billion contract for the construction and operation of Camp East Montana.
This is the registered headquarters. That is not a mistake, that is a home in suburban Richmond and is the listed headquarters for Acquisition Logistics company. Here's a picture of the 77-year-old owner and a quote from earlier this year before the website was changed. This project is 442 times larger than the size of the last published contract obtained by this company. This contract would also make the company one of Richmond's largest businesses. Despite this, there are only approximately 39 employees known to work for this company. A little company from suburban Virginia with an old man as its owner is in charge of more than a billion dollar contract to run the infrastructure and care for a small town of people. It can be no surprise that it has resulted in disaster and will continue to decay into misery and misfortune.
