A new national poll shows that the year end surge nonprofits rely on may not happen this year, and the reason is simple. Americans are stretched thin. Rising costs for food, housing, insurance, utilities, and child care have left many families with nothing left to give, even as need continues to grow. While compassion has not disappeared, household finances have been squeezed by higher prices and trade policies that hit everyday budgets, making generosity harder. With December typically accounting for a huge share of annual donations, this slowdown puts food banks, shelters, and community programs under serious strain and highlights the real world impact of an economy where millions are just trying to get through the month. Ring of Fire's Jerrod Zisser discusses.
