In this episode, heart transplant survivor Ed Bullock shares his story of tragedy and second chances. Listen as he discusses the suffering of life on the run and the importance of embracing every moment.
Edward Bullock was born and raised in Jersey City New Jersey, his family quickly moved to Bayonne for a better life, but tragedy struck when his mother was Murdered by a Bayonne Police officer. After suffering this emotional trauma Ed went to Virginia to live with his dad, where he discovered alcohol.
Ed came back to Jersey at the age of 16 where he started running the streets and getting into trouble. He did his first prison bid at 24,and his second one at 28.
Ed went on the run after shooting someone, but he received news from a doctor that he would need a heart transplant if he wanted to live. Receiving a successful heart transplant he still drank alcohol. Taking advice from a nurse, Ed woke up and got sober.
After being arrested and facing a ton of time Ed reconnected with GOD in jail, his charges mysteriously got dropped, and he got a second chance to be a father to his young daughter.
But the journey is not over yet, Ed is still in need of a kidney. He lives a humble and sober life with his wonderful family and he is hopeful that he will receive a transplant soon.
