Note the semaphore arms on the roof – Mark V tanks were fitted with semaphore arms to communicate. The position of the arms represent different messages, such as 'enemy in sight' or 'attack!'
Also – the carrier pigeon release - pigeons were usually carried in baskets inside the tank. After a message was put in a special tube, and attached to their leg, they flew back to Tank Headquarters to deliver it.
