7:30Now PlayingIan Blackford speaks to Matt Chorley about his comments in the House of Commons on Monday, following the publication of Sue Gray's report, as he said Boris Johnson misled Parliament.
The SNP Commons leader was asked by the speaker to take back his words, which he refused to do and left the House.
He said: "I've got a responsibility, Matt, to tell it as I see it and tell it as many of my constituents and constituents right across the United Kingdom have been seeing."
Asked about the impact of the report into Downing Street parties on the public's confidence in politicians, Ian Blackford said the behaviour of the government was "unacceptable" and that it was essential for politicians to "restore confidence in our public life."
He also gave more details about having a referendum on Scotland's independence.
