Speaking to Stig Abell on Times Radio Breakfast, she talked about how they surviving despite the on-going Russian attacks.
She said: "I wake up in the middle of the night and I check the news. It's really difficult to sleep.
"It's the fifth night running, thank God the connection is there so I can talk to them on WhatsApp nearly anytime apart from the time when they are in the cellar.
"Because when the sirens go, they hide in the cellar.
"They live in the residential area outside of Kyiv.
"So, basically, you know, the cellar where we used to keep our pickled vegetables now is used by six members of my family, including my 84-year old mother and two sisters."
