5:37Now PlayingChelsea owner Roman Abramovich said he will sell the club - with the "net proceeds" going to benefit victims of the war in Ukraine.
Chelsea reporter at The Athletic Liam Twomey spoke to Aasmah Mir and Stig Abell on Times Radio Breakfast about the latest development in the club's story.
He said: "It certainly felt increasingly inevitable.
"When you look at the broader events of the last week, I think there's been a growing political will to see Abramovich face some sort of sanction.
"He seems to be sort of the best-known oligarch at this point in time that doesn't have any sanctions to his name."
He also talked about Chelsea fans, says "quite a lot of Chelsea fans have always felt conflicted to some degree about" the Russian owner of the club.
He said: "We'll get some Chelsea fans that will blindly defend him purely because he's put money into the club, but I think there are quite a lot of Chelsea fans as well that takes a bit more of a nuanced view of it all."
