In an exclusive interview on Start of Your Day with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill on Monday, Blow said that Black people can have power on the state level and that moving to southern states would be detrimental in that.
"Black people have agency and power," Blow said. "You take the state, you change your reality."
Blow speaks in detail about this possibility in his new book The Devil You Know: A Black Power Manifesto.
“The idea that Black people can have real power on a state level was important for me to say it and collect it one space,” Blow said.
Blow said that the Black middle class is thriving economically in southern cities over cities in the north.
Black voters Atlanta helped turn Georgia blue for the first time in 28 years, a feat that prompted calls from former President Donald Trump for the presidential election to be overturned, falsely claiming that voter fraud occurred.
