Imagineering is the research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company and is responsible for the design, creation and construction of Disney theme parks and attractions across the world.
In her role, Smith leads efforts to help ensure that Disney attractions and experiences that allow guest to see themselves and be represented. Her focus is on developing culturally-based competencies to advance inclusion, equity and diversity.
She also spoke about the projects Disney has in place that will spotlight African American executives throughout the company. "Our intention and our goal at all times is to make sure that as we tell our stories and we look around the table, that that table reflects a mindset, a toolset and a skillset and the different cultures that come to our parks and resorts," Smith said about diversity within the Imagineering team.
