Starting with police reform, Leslie Ricard Chambers, the Deputy Executive Counsel and Criminal Justice Policy Advisor for Governor John Bel Edwards in Lousiana, joined the show to discuss the topic. Chambers said she thinks Biden is doing a good job highlighting the need for reform. "I think that that's something that our community wants to see from our leaders." Citing the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, she said it will be interesting to see what legislation will look like if qualified immunity is removed for police officers.
Chambers also said it is essential for people to get involved in local elections to appoint prosecutors and district attorneys.
