Hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill reacted to the interview and Joseph's comments. Reed acknowledged that it isn't easy for him to speak out with an unpopular opinion but she found it troubling. "I was triggered by Mr.Joseph's statements and personal views," she said. Citing his comments that he's never heard or seen another officer do anything racist during his career, Reed said Black people in America know what's going on as they experience it daily. Hill applauded Joseph for taking a stand and defending it. Citing the history of racism in the Los Angeles Police Department, Reed and Hill agreed that racism isn't always heard, but it is indeed felt by the Black community.
