The Knicks released a statement saying, "We investigated the matter and determined that this patron, who is not a season ticket holder, did indeed spit on Trae Young, and for that reason, he is now banned from The Garden indefinitely. We apologize to Trae and the entire Atlanta Hawks organization for this fan's behavior." Sharon Reed and Mike Hill, hosts of "Start Your Day," spoke about this case and other incidents showing mistreatment NBA players have received from fans. Reed says the NBA did not go far enough with just banning the player from Madison Square Garden.
