1:51Now PlayingSearch crews are back to work at the site of the condo collapse in Surfside, Florida, just hours after the remaining tower was demolished overnight.
Lauren McCoy has the latest from journalist Paul Vercammen on "Start Your Day" with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill. Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett says the demolition "eliminated a looming threat, a dangerous threat for our rescue workers." Following concerns that the structure was unstable and endangered rescuers on the ground, and fears it wouldn't hold up against powerful winds from the approaching Tropical Storm Elsa, the remaining part of the structure was demolished. At least 24 people are confirmed dead and 121 people are unaccounted for.
