4:21Now PlayingReverend Al Sharpton and Attorney Ben Crump are changing the narrative by taking on the case of a white teen who was unarmed when he was killed by police officers.
Will Hunter Brittain’s case push lawmakers to actually make a change? That’s the question Sharon Reed raised during “Start Your Day” on Wednesday. Brittain’s car was reportedly spiraling out of control, and he was trying to stop it. What should have been a simple traffic stop ended with the loss of the teenager's life, and according to Reed, it simply shouldn’t have ended that way. One of the officers involved has already been fired from the department for not turning on his body camera in time. “This will help change the narrative and show people that ‘hey, it’s not just happening to Black kids, and that’s why we need police reform,'” said Shannon LaNier.
