7:10Now PlayingIt was a day where Black men were unified on Capitol Hill in the fight for voting rights, during the Brothers Day of Action.
The protest was held by several important groups like the Black Male Voter Project and Color of Change. This event was part of a rallying cry by Black and Democratic lawmakers to protect the rights of all voters. Several hours after the march was finished, demonstrators such as W. Mondale Robinson, founder of the Black Male Voter Project, and Color of Change president Rashad Robinson, were arrested.
Dr. Wes Bellamy, national co-chair of Our Black Party, and Reverend Mark Thompson, host of the “Make It Plain” podcast, join Nayyera Haq on “The World Tonight” to talk about how Black men are playing a significant role in voting rights.
