A year after a police officer killed Brooks, the case has a new prosecutor. Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has appointed Peter Skandalakis, head of the Georgia counsel, to take over the case.
Also, pre-trial hearings have begun in Brunswick, Georgia, of the three men charged in the killing of Arbery. Defense attorneys in the case have requested the jury selection be closed to the press but changed their minds because of the public interest in the case.
