To kick it off, Dr. Laura McNeil covers New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio’s recent announcement that all NYC employees are required to be vaccinated. McNeil mentions that private and public employers can mandate the vaccine as a condition of employment. “This is something that is definitely legal,” McNeil says. She also adds that it will be interesting to see if the employees who are refusing the vaccine mandate decide to stay or walk away from their job. Dr. McNeil also covers the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act that gives companies like Pfizer and Moderna total legal immunity if something goes wrong with their vaccine.
