Reverend Dr. William Barber is partnering with former U.S. Representative Beto O'Rourke, to organize a march reminiscent of Selma to Montgomery to demand legislation to protect voting rights. The march will begin on July 28 in Georgetown, Texas and concludes on the steps of the Texas Capitol in Austin on July 31.
The purpose of the march is to push lawmakers to end the filibuster, pass the For the People Act, raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour and to restore the Voting Rights Act of 1964.
Reverend Liz Theoharis, who is the co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign, joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to talk about the march and voting laws.
