Coming up, the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division will be looking into the Phoenix Police Department’s use of force practices. It will investigate patterns of retaliation over activity protected under the first amendment. Also, the discrimination against people with disabilities and who are homeless.
In Florida, the state set a new hospitalization record today as at least 12,000 new coronavirus patients are flooding hospitals. According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, 23% of all American COVID-19 hospitalizations are in Florida.
The same issue is happening in Louisiana where hospitals are overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients in the state. They are averaging over 4,000 cases per day and have low vaccination rates.
