In the midst of going through the pandemic and fighting economic downturn, Hurricane Ida may cause more economic downturn for the areas affected. Wilsey explains that during natural disasters, money comes in from insurance companies and the government. However, getting access to products and supplies this time will be difficult. “The money will be there, but the products won’t be because our economy is booming on the manufacturing side and we don’t have enough people to do this,” Wilsey says.
