6:01Now PlayingA Mississippi man was freed after nearly 23 years in prison, for the killings of four people. Now, he is fighting back against the prosecutors involved with his case. Curtis Flowers was released in December of 2019 after the Supreme Court tossed out his conviction, having felt that prosecutors showed an unconstitutional pattern of excluding African American jurors in his trial.
Flowers is now filing a suit against investigators and the district attorney who prosecuted him 6 times for the killings, claiming prosecutors engaged in misconduct.
“BNC Live” welcomes its Chief Legal correspondent, Dr. Laura McNeal, who wants to be optimistic about Flowers, but also acknowledges that the prosecutors have immunity in their favor.
