New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said he plans to ask Biden for federal disaster relief to more counties. Biden’s visit comes just one day after FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell also toured the destruction in the northeast.
“Hurricane Ida, she spread destruction across nine states in five regions and it ended right here,” Criswell said. “What we saw today was absolutely heartbreaking--the amount of damage and destruction that these families have experienced.”
