On Sept. 6, he was found dead in his apartment in New York City. The 54-year-old was best known for his memorable role of Omar Little in the television series "The Wire," a rogue robber of drug dealers.
Williams' career started as a backup dancer, and he told reporters he channeled his personal pain as a victim of abuse. The New York Police Department said his death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose.
