The Supreme Court has stepped in to put the execution of John Ramirez on hold. Ramirez was convicted of stabbing a man to death in 2004 and filed a request for his spiritual advisor to stand next to him to hold his hand.
The FBI has released a new report on hate crimes which shows a 6% overall increase in hate crimes across the country since last year. The largest group targeted are Black people, with more than 2,000 incidents reported.
